Slatwall isn’t an “accounting” system or platform - it doesn’t try to be. However, there are users who leverage a number of features and functionality in Slatwall to track expenses and want to gain an understanding of the costs around their eCommerce businesses.
What It Is:
Implement new chart of accounts and categorization of those accounts as revenue, expense and more.
A new setting will allow for the categorization at each SKU.
All the costs associated with a vendor order, for inventory replenishment, can be tracked including Shipping & Handling costs to give an accurate picture of product cost.
With the ability to manage and track inventory at multiple locations, each individual location now has its own inventory and inventory cost number.
Why It’s Great:
For the type of user who invests a significant amount of time in Slatwall, merchandising and creating promotions, the new pricing and cost data at a product level is invaluable. How much should we be selling this item for? What does our cost look like? How much are we making per sale? The inventory tracking on a location by location basis means that any changes as a result of a vendor order are changing dynamically - adjusting the available inventory and the cost of that inventory in real-time.
